Returning to your grandparents’ or great-grandparents’ house after decades is something quite special. Today I had the honour of welcoming André! He spent a large part of his childhood and teenage years in that narrow house, right up until 1977. Among other things, he showed me his childhood bedroom and shared some historical facts with me that I hadn’t known before. I also got to see lots of old family photos, and it was really moving. My favourite photo from back then: he’s sitting on a horse as a little boy, laughing at the camera. What a wonderful reunion for both of us. I’m so grateful for that!
